Get your bustle on!

What is a bustle?? And why do I need one?

What is a bustle?

A bustle is the sewing process of transitioning a wedding gown to function as if it has no train.

In other words, buttons, hooks or ribbons will be placed into the dress to make it easier for you to walk after the ceremony by lifting up the train or tucking it into itself.

Why do you need a bustle?

Bustling your wedding dress will protect it from getting dirty and damaged after your ceremony. It will also allow you to dance the night away without tripping over your train. You don’t want to haul around a huge lace train all night and have people step on it.

You may be surprised to learn that wedding dresses do not come with a bustle in place. Wedding gown bustles are added during the alterations process. As every bride is unique, a bustle will need to be custom made to lift the back of your wedding dress to your perfect hem length.

All our gowns include bustles if/where required.
